Loud music and lousy tests

Well, it has been a while since I last posted. Life just seems to get away from me sometimes. Well, the big event that all the teens had been looking forward to for so long finally happened. Thats right, YC 2007 has come and gone. 16 000 youth and a couple of very brave adults. Yowza. It was fun, altough past years were more fun. The speaker last year was more entertaining most of us found, and there was no Bob stromberg, which in and of itself sucked royally. He makes YC with his the rabbit and the hound skit. Haha, it is so awesome. After getting back, I think most of the teens slept all day. We got home at about 5 am. Thanks so much all you parents (especially Mr. Peats!!!) Who put up with the 39 or so youth who were packed into that bus! There were a few incidents, including people getting sick, but other than that, it went pretty well.

I have come to the conclusion that (drum roll please) PERSONAL PLANNING SUCKS!! (end drum roll)

Well, I am done provincials for the year! YIPPEE! The one I just did was for science, ew. It was so weird though, because some of the stuff we didn't even learn! Silly people who write the exam! Anyway, on the past exams this year, I did okay. In english I got a 94. It was such an easy test though! In math I got a 64, which just proves that I suck at math. I won't know what I got in science for a while yet, I am keeping my fingers crossed....

Well, I have to go now, today is addisons birthday (she is 2!!) and Erins grad
Talk to you later!

A sad day

Today, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, my grandma Elaine passed away. She was a great woman and will be sorely missed. We all loved her. She died of pancreatic cancer, as many of you know. She suffered through months and months of her body shutting down, yet she was still so happy. We will all miss you Grandma.

Now that is talent

The school I do my correspondance through has decided that it is the teachers job to be my tutor, so they are no longer funding a tutor for their students. Which includes me. Which includes math, at which I suck. Which means, that they will no longer pay Colette to tutor me, which is really bad news as she is the only reason I am passing math. For the school to do this is completely unreasonable, especially for student's like me who struggle in math. For my distance ed teacher to help me I would need her on the phone for over and hour every day. Which is what Colette is doing (except in person). I highly doubt that my teacher has that much time, as she has enormous mounds of schoolwork to correct, as I am not her only student. So, just because the school wants to tighten their purse strings, my education is suffering. Now doesn't that just sound like the BC school system?

Anyway, my rant does have a point. Now, Colette will be my art teacher (which they do still fund) who will also occasionally help me with math if I need it...no...when I need it, during/after art class. She will be focusing on photography with me, she will give me assignments (ex: take pictures of examples of contrast, examples of different types of contrast etc...) and then she will show me how to work with those pictures on photo-shop(right now I am taking out color and playing with contrast). I have decided to share with you some of my accomplishments of the past week. Enjoy, and feel free to comment on them. =)

A-one and A-two and A-snip snip snip

Did you know that to get a hair appointment in this town, you have to book almost a month ahead of time? Yowza. Anyway, I took the initiative and booked myself an appointment for the 16th of February, at 2:30. Yup, thats right, today. So anyway, I went in there with a vague idea of what I wanted, and gave Karli a rough description of what I wanted. It turned out completely different than what I expected, but it is amazing! It is an inch or so shorter now, with a bunch of layers that are shorter, mostly around my face. I love it!!!

Well, Valentines Day has come and gone, just like any other day of the year. I got flowers...and chocolates. Jael got flowers as well. We gave them to each other. Now thats not weird at all.....nah, it was pretty sweet actually, I was not expecting anything like it. Thanks Big sis!!

Got to run and babysit now!!

Love and all that junk (yippee for valentines day)

Well, me and my mom and co. just got back from an oh-so-joyful trip to saskatoon. The being there was fine, it was the actual getting there that was the problem. On the way there, we were packed in quite tight, and we really did make an effort to pack light...then...the shopping happened. The trip back, I am sure we were almost dragging on the ground...but it wasn't our fault!! There are just so many pretty things....and then there was this sale....and before I/we knew it, we had almost twice as much stuff as we set out with. Poor Dante, that girl is so good. She was squished into the very back where there is this little mini-seat. And then, there was all our luggage squished next to her. As if that wasn't bad enough, Grandma's bag kept falling on her head! Most kids would have been complaining the whole time, but not Dante. She could have complained, in fact she had every right too, but she didn't. Such a sweetie.

Valentines Day is sneaking up on us, stupid holiday if you ask me(personally, I prefer st. patty's day YAY GREEN!!). Just a reason for all those romantics to feel let down because their boyfriends/husbands (or, on rare occasions wife/girlfriends) aren't as romantic as they are. Or you feel left out because you don't have anyone, or there are those people who hate it and feel pressured to do something because it is what their loved one is expecting. We should get rid of it. Except for the chocolate. Yummy. Heheh.

Goodbye Alice in Wonderland

The new season of American Idol started today. Ouch. There are some horrible singers on there, and what I don't understand is they just don't learn. People go in there knowing that the judges are jerks and then are so surprised when the judges are what they have shown themselves to be. I just don't get it. Silly people.

Watching the show I have decided that a guy should never sing my heart will go on. Especially when they can't sing. At all. Yet somehow, I get a weird sort of joy watching these people making fools of themselves. I guess that is why the show first hit it off, people love to laugh at people making fools of themselves. I don't think I would ever be able to do that though. I tend to avoid complete mortification, especially in front of millions of people.

Blah.
